This is my first EE Lightning model. Free-flight . powered by an AS55 diesel. Bungee launch required to get it airborne.
I made a test model prior to the scale Lightning. Everything adjustable--tailplane size and incidence, wing dihedral, thrustline, CG. It flew much better than the accurate model, because it was lighter, and in the air the two were indistinguishable. (Free-flighters rarely do close-in low passes). It showed that no deviations from scale were required. This experience had a powerful influence on my subsequent designs.
Saracen. Allbon Dart, .5cc diesel.
Boeing 707 Cox Peewee.
Crusader Cox peewee.
P 38 Cox Peewee. I had to fit airbrakes under the wing to get this model to fly in a dignified manner.
GB-2 towline glider Beebipe
Non-scale, and tissue-covered. Not my usual style. |
