AVRO  LANCASTRIAN

Update.......August 07

Now has 400/7.2 motors and 3S, 2.5 Ah lipo.

Props cut down to 5"dia to avoid motor overheat.

Weight now 72oz.

Original notes

First flown 1997....Span 62"....82oz....23oz per sq ft....4 * speed 400/6....Master 6*4....8 sub C  cells....mechanical retracts....rudder and elevator controls....all balsa....

This model is 18oz heavier than my similar-size Sunderland due to the retractable landing gear. Each leg is driven by a separate mini servo. Retracts are controlled from a rotary knob on the TX to enable slow operation.   A smooth runway is required for take-off, which is long and realistic. Climb rate is just about the safe minimum.
