| 24 August 2003 Confidence returning, gradually. Nine models flown in recent weeks, with no unexplained mishaps. Canberra, P61, Lancaster, B36, Lohner, EE Lightning, JF9, Sunderland & SeaMaster. Earlier in the year I attempted to fly the newly-repaired SeaMaster but only managed to damage it again as a result of an inadequate hand-launch; so I am now experimenting with bungee launch for heavier models (40 to 70 oz). The SeaMaster has now flown successfully off the bungee. Most of my models require a bungee tension of twice the model weight. The Lightning needs three times, the Sunderland needs 1.5 times. Four more models now to be retrofitted with flush hooks. |
