Summer flying is already a distant memory. And Autumn provided few flying opportunities. There were some calm days last week--with freezing temperatures.

Most of my modelling friends do their building in an unheated shed or garage, which is a great dis-incentive. I have a heated indoor hobby room, so my year divides naturally into a Summer flying season and a Winter building season. I've designed four new models: one of them is now half-built [photo].

For ten years, my Astro Whattmeter has been an essential accessory. Recently, it went U/S, and I felt an urgent need to replace it. After surveying the half-dozen similar items now on the market, I decided on the current version of the Astro. There are two good improvements on the old version; it summates energy, it operates down to zero volts.
