The Blackpool and Fylde electric Day at Weeton on 25th of May saw the local electric rally season off to a good start.

We were very relieved to get a flyable day, following four weeks of very poor weather. Mostly cloudy, some sunshine, a steady wind touching 14 mph.

A comfortable attendance (we can't accommodate Chester-size crowds). Most from NW England.

On the evidence of the day, progress in practical electric flying continues unabated. At the high-tech end there were two incredibly-fast models; not my style, but very impressive. At the economy end, lots of very good flying. In-between, high-quality motors proving their worth.

My deepest impression was of the way the pilots were undeterred by the stiff breeze, in contrast to my reluctance. A few precious slow-flying models stayed on the ground (including my ANT 20). I eventually flew my Valiant and P61, without problems. I must revise my personal wind limits.
