Performance of old and used cells

Since commencing flying after my winter lay-off I have flown six electric models. Some of them have performed in a very disappointing manner. This has provoked a lot of tedious battery cycling and testing.

The ages of the packs are between one and three years. Number of cycles not logged; varies, probably between 20 and 100.

Discharge durations were between 7 and 10 minutes.

Output stated as discharge energy. Energy is better than capacity because it takes into account the voltage variations under load.

Please be aware of the limitations of this data; small sample, and incomplete history of packs.
